Saturday, 10th December sees HMVC at Huddersfield Town Hall for their annual Christmas concert. Once again our guests are the World No 1 brass band, the Cory Band, from South Wales.
Tickets are available from Kirklees Information offices or online at: www.kirklees.gov.uk/townhalls and cost from £7 to £16.

The choir was delighted to present a cheque for £3,220 to the newly built Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in Huddersfield following our highly successful 75th anniversary concert at the Huddersfield Town Hall in September which featured international opera star Lesley Garrett.

An Anniversary dinner was held on Saturday, 12th November at the Lawrence Batley Suite at the YMCA Laund Hill.Over 100 members and guests enjoyed a delicious meal with the toast to "Honley Male Voice Choir" being proposed by Vice Chairman Paul Wood.

Donald Swann, a member of the baritone section for over 30 years, celebrated his 90th birthday last week. Donald has served the choir in almost every office including: President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and editor of the Honley Mail during his time of membership.
Despite his advancing years Donald remains very active both in the choir and on the golf course, where he plays a couple of times each week.
In the next few weeks Donald will be travelling to Burma withe British Legion to re-visit some of his wartime locations. In the New Year, Donald and his wife Jean will be taking a cruise down the coast of Africa to Cape Town. Not bad for a 90 year old!

For the 7th year in succession the Cory Band from South Wales will be the guests of the choir at Huddersfield Town Hall. Cory have recently become British Open Champions again, so another excellent evening's entertainment is guaranteed.
